Meet the author

Andy Kenwright is Liverpool born and bred. He ran a successful sports travel business for over a decade before the pandemic hit and completely pulled the rug from under him. His wife who was working part-time as a nurse moved up to full-time hours and Andy became a full-time dad to his two children and home maker.

During this period he finally found the time to pick up his pen again after many, many years without writing, remembering a time long ago when his goal in life was to become a professional writer.

He concocted The Zebedee Zeeker series after stumbling across the tragic, true story of Mickey the world’s cleverest chimpanzee and the Mossley Hill Zoo that he discovered existed in the 1930s, a mere stone’s throw from where he grew up. That combined with his son’s insatiable love of animals and zoos gave birth to this epic adventure in verse.

Andy is also a highly accomplished poet who has performed his remarkably diverse brand of performance poetry at many events. His literary prowess knows no bounds.

“I hope you have enjoyed reading Zebedee Zeeker as much as I have enjoyed writing it! I would like to thank my family, friends and readers for helping bring this story to book shelves across the world. Stay tuned for more action from Zebedee soon!” Andy Kenwright, Author

Did you know that the Zebedee Zeeker character is actually based on Andy's son Dylan?

Andy & Dylan have travelled the length and breadth of the UK to visit animals in Zoos & Safari Parks to help bring the story of Zebedee Zeeker to life!
